 Group therapy

Group psychotherapy can be a very effective tool for some patients. The group provides a reserved framework in which the participants discover that there are other people who share similar difficulties and the very discovery creates a group of belonging, encouraging and strengthening. The sense of belonging contributes to the creation of internal motivation for change and therefore may lead to success in a relatively short period of time. Also, the group activity provides an opportunity to take the initiative and help others, which empowers and helps build a positive self-image . Thanks to the reflection that the group provides, self-awareness develops and an opportunity is created to change automatic thinking patterns, which lead to negative feelings.

The groups are suitable for ages 12-18. The composition of the group is built according to the age and characteristics of the participants. In the same group there will be participants of similar ages. Throughout the year, there are several therapeutic groups with different centers depending on the demand.

The therapeutic process includes a first introductory meeting with the child and his parents, a series of 10 one-and-a-half-hour group sessions, in groups of 4-5 participants, and a final personal meeting with the child and his parents.
